Acupressure and Acupuncture
Acupressure is a form of treatment which employs finger pressure or massage
on the acu-points of the body; finger massage doing acupuncture without needles.
Both acupressure and acupuncture is believed to work the wonders it does
because it uses the natural reaction of the body to heal itself.
The body has remarkable recuperative powers if triggered in the right way.
Stimulating the acu-points removes blockages along the energy-channels
so that the energies may flow freely and in this way the body
is stimulated to rid itself of the burden of illnesses.
Energy-channels are a system in the body like energy-pathways,
and the acu-points are energy-stations along these channels.
There are thought to be 12 vital energy-channels associated with
the 12 vital organs in the body. And the energy-channels direct the vital organs.
Acupressure or acupuncture triggers instantly the body’s own recuperative powers.
When these powers are released, the process of healing can often be strong.
The body will cleanse out old waste-material and this can produce sensations
of discomfort and also unpleasant feelings.
This is what is called ‘healing crisis’ and is part of the body’s healing process.
If your complaint is acute and of short duration, a series of 4 treatments is recommended.
If your condition is more chronic and the problems of your body of longer duration,
a series of 12 treatments is recommended.
Neither acupressure nor acupuncture is instead of traditional medicine
and cannot take responsibility for medical diseases.
If you are under the care of a medical doctor, we advise you to continue your treatment.
NB: We no longer offer acu-puncture or acu-pressure.
